Zelfbouw (D. van Dijk) G轨 - Tram motor- en bijwagen - RET (Allan) motorwagen 400 en wagen 1000 serie - RET (Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram)

Self built (D. van Dijk) G - Tram motor- and annex carriages - RET(Allan) motor carriage 400 and carriage 1000 series - RET (Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram). Carriage numbers 401-420 were delivered at the end of 1929 by Allan & Co (Rotterdam) to the RET. These unique hand built models of the Rotterdam Allan four coach-units 419 (motor carriage) and the 1001 (annex) beautiful gauge G models, have been tested on the LGB track, and work well. Models are made out of brass with a wooden Interior and chassis. Functioning classical tram couplings, based on the real life examples. Beautifully coloured yellow window-frames. The tram has the right lettering, logos and advertising texts of that period in time. Very nice carriages made with an eye for detail. Nicely detailed and well sprung pantograph. The motor carriage and the annex carriage are linked to each other by means of a pin in the coupling housings. The lighting in the annex carriage is powered by a two-pole plug connection to the motor carriage. Both the white front - and the red end signal lights on either end work. Interior illumination lights up but is rather dim. Could be related to an issue with the decoder, but that's up to the new owner to take care of. On the roof are screws with which you can open up the cars. They have nicely finished interiors done with wooden benches, wooden interior walls and with windows. Fitted with several passengers and a driver. These models have clearly been made by the maker with the intention that these trams would be driven. This is clear from the drivetrain from LGB, including the wheels and flexible bogies. There is probably a cover missing on the underside for protection of the wiring bundle. Although the tram is fitted with a digital decoder, the model has only been tested in analogue mode. The drivetrain and the gears have been completely cleaned and lubricated The LGB drivetrain can be very easily exchanged in due course should a new one become necessary. The yellow ochre lacquer was sprayed on whilst the black lacquer has been painted over that. This has been nicely done, although there are some spots that require touching up a bit. Some spots here and there. Not very very noticeable or disturbing. We will offer this model in a blank replacement packaging. All in all a beautiful museum piece. An eye-catcher for the LGB track layout or for in a larger display cabinet. Linked together they will cover a total length of approximately 115 cm. We have never seen a model of this tram, not in this scale either. The model can be seen on display on the 13th and 14th of January. While this auction is in progress, the model can be viewed during the Real life Model Railway exhibition days in Rijswijk at the Broodfabriek, on the 13th and 14th of January. Together with the other tram models that are to be auctioned here. This tram is part of a special gauge G tram collection with over thirty (motor) carriages and NS locomotives! For those who can not go to the viewing days: the photos are an integral part of the description of this lot. Please look carefully at the photos!
