For sale is an antique "The "All British" No.2 Hinged Dark Room Lamp" with original cardboard box.
On the box is printed: "with pliable Ring to widen for Night Light or close up for candle." (It has a) "5in X 3 .1/2in Ruby Glass".
Made in Britain it dates from the late 19th Century.
It takes a small candle or tealight & comes with a new unused one.
It is in good condition for its age, the glass is good with no breaks or cracks, only micro chips to the corners (does not effect use or appearance). The metalwork is good there is some minor paint loss/ chips/ use wear. The original cardboard box/ packaging is good for its age in aged /distressed condition but is missing the lid.
The lamp stands at 15cm in height, 9cm wide & 6cm thick (all measurements approx.).
