Very unique Matra Djet 6 replica based on a VW Beetle chassis. Of this Djet replica, called the Calpine 2 + 2 there were only 7 copies built between 1979 and 1983. Moulds were used from the original Matra Djet for the bodywork, with, as you can see, some modifications for a.o. the engine. The wheelbase is exactly like the original, the windshield is that of the Alpine A110. The base is an original chassis of a VW Beetle of 1970, this chassis is not shortened and has the correct Dutch registration papers. The engine is a 1600 cc type AD. The car stands on neat VW 8 spoke (Empi?) wheels with as good as new Toyo tyres. A lowering set for the front axle is also available for the car. All windows are present, windscreen is of glass, all other windows are of plexiglass. In terms of interior, the seats, dashboard and a few cladding panels are present. The mileage is fictitious as the counters have been added to the car. Very unique project with obvious potential! Any shipping costs are an indication.
