Authentic huge blade spear of the NGBANDI people, Africa, Congo circa 1920-1930.
The Spear is in good condition but has clearly been used (war spear).
The Ngbandi had their own name for this specific spear “NDIMBA”. It was greatly respected because it virtually was the only spear that could go through the thick leather shields of the enemies of the Ngbandi.
The shaft of the spear is wrapped in metal bands,in the middle of the shaft a pierced and hand carved knob and at the end of the shaft a metal sock for extra grip by throwing the spear.
Measures; 1552 cm. long.
Weight; 1336 gram.
Condition; The spear has some minor wear and tear and there is also some oxidation,all wear is age&use-related,see photos for overall condition.
Shipping cost is higher because of the lenght of the item (1552cm).
