This antique bible contains the new testament + book of psalms and hymns + catechism published by the Nederlandsche Bijbel-Compagnie in 1867. Has a single profile silver lock in Biedermeier style - clamp arm finished with a delicate engraving in floral Biedermeier pattern - a well turned clasp and a piece with embossed Biedermeier patterns. Book cover in brown leather and with gold on cut, inside book cover gold stamping.
Silver hallmarks:
Walking lion (2nd content silver, 833/1000) - Minerva head C ‘s-Gravenhage - maker's mark silversmith CH12 (C. Hooykaas. ‘s-Gravenhage. 1868-1919).
