Gebel Kamil meteorite fell in what is nowadays Egypt about 5,000 years ago, coming from the core of an asteroid already disintegrated in the process of formation of the solar system. It was discovered by a group of geologists in 2009. Since then, some fragments have been recovered, usually of small size.
In this lot we present a magnificent specimen of Gebel Kamil, with a very good weight and excellent weight/surface ratio, due to the flattened shape of the specimen, which presents the typical characteristics of this famous ataxite, with one of its faces marked with small irregularities in dotted shape, having been outdoors, punished by the sand of the desert. Museum quality. Includes a base.
