The "Rosso di Montalcino Pian delle Vigne of the Marchesi Antinori" is a wine born in the vineyards of the homonymous estate, in the heart of the DOC Rosso di Montalcino.
It is produced with 100% Sangiovese grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand, between the end of September and the beginning of October. Fermentation takes place, with maceration, at a controlled temperature of 25 ° C, for 8-10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 12 months in large wooden barrels before being bottled.
This Rosso di Montalcino is characterized by an intense and bright ruby red colour. The nose opens with hints of cherry, plum and small red fruits. On the palate it is vibrant and sapid, with a good breadth and balance that accompany towards a finish of good persistence.
