Original dark-blue binding with cover drawing, original endpapers - xviii, 256 pp. + double-sided photo plates - 22.5 × 15 cm.
Condition: From a university library with some of the features: number at the bottom of the spine, some small numbers. Stamp on top edge. Endpapers glued to back cover.
Furthermore: The boards are worn. The hinge on the inside of the front cover is split. Bookblock somewhat loose but still solid. The corners are slightly bent.
A rare, famous book with shocking content, with a lot of history about Tippo Tip (Tippu Tip) (1837-1905), an infamous Swahili governor, plantation owner and slave and ivory trader from Zanzibar.
