The icon dates to the 19th century, painted on wood, 35.7 x 31.3 cm, 2.3 cm thick. This is an icon for private devotion. It centralises around the Coming of Christ in Limbo, where he liberates the righteous from the Old Testament. It has other depictions around it: above the centre it shows the Resurrection of Christ with to the left the angel and a myrrh-wearing woman, and to the right the good killer who passes through heaven's gates. He is followed by other righteous people from the Old testament. To the lower right, Christ appearing to Peter at Tiberias lake. Depictions along the edge show events that are celebrated in the Russian church. From left to right, top to botom: The Birth of Mary, the Assumption of Mary in the temple, the Revelation to Mary, the Birth of Christ, the Presentation in the temple, the Baptism of Jesus, the Parade in Jerusalem, Transfiguration on Mount Thabor, the Ascension of Christ, Angels visiting Abraham, Constantine and Helena with the found cross and the Dormition of the Mother of God.
